Transitions, morphs, and cinematic effects using reference workflows

Seedance 2.0 Creative VFX Templates

Beyond basic video generation, Seedance 2.0 can produce sophisticated visual effects when you combine @video references with targeted prompt language. This page covers morph transitions, reveal effects, particle systems, and ad-template VFX that you can adapt for commercial and creative projects.

Morph transitions between subjects

A morph transition smoothly transforms one subject into another. Use two @image references: the start frame and the end frame. Describe the transition in your prompt with timing cues like 'gradually morph from A to B over 3 seconds.' The SCELA framework helps here: set the Scene, describe the Character states at start and end, define the Emotion arc, specify Lighting consistency, and add Action timing.

Reveal and unveil effects

Reveal effects work by hiding a subject behind particles, smoke, light, or geometric shapes, then unveiling it. Start with a prompt describing the concealing element, then describe the reveal moment. Use @video references of similar reveal effects to guide the model's timing and style.

Particle and energy effects

For sparks, fire, magical energy, or data-visualization particles, describe the particle behavior explicitly: emission point, trajectory, color gradient, and decay pattern. Reference videos of similar particle effects help the model understand the physics and timing you want.

Ad template VFX patterns

Commercial ad templates often follow a pattern: product reveal, feature highlight with text overlay zones, and a closing logo reveal. Structure your prompt as a shot list with timestamps. Use @image references for the product and brand assets, and @video references for the motion style you want to emulate.

Примеры Input / Output

Smoke reveal for product launch

A dense smoke cloud parts to reveal a product floating in center frame, using a reveal-style @video reference.

@video[smoke-reveal-ref.mp4] @image[product-hero.png] Dense swirling smoke fills the frame, smoke parts dramatically from center outward revealing the product from reference image floating in mid-air, volumetric light piercing through smoke, cinematic slow motion, product rotation begins after reveal, dark studio background, high contrast lighting.
A dramatic smoke-reveal sequence where the product emerges cleanly from the smoke, matching the timing pattern of the reference video.

Subject morph transition

Morphs a clay sculpture into a finished bronze statue using two reference images as keyframes.

@image[clay-sculpture.png] @image[bronze-statue.png] Smooth morph transition from rough clay sculpture to polished bronze statue, transformation flows from top to bottom over 4 seconds, surface texture gradually shifts from matte clay to reflective bronze, consistent lighting throughout morph, pedestal remains unchanged, museum gallery setting.
A 4-second morph where the clay texture seamlessly transforms into polished bronze from top to bottom while the environment stays static.

Particle energy burst

Creates an energy burst effect radiating from a character's hands using a VFX reference clip.

@video[energy-burst-ref.mp4] Character standing in dark void, hands extended forward, bright blue energy particles emit from palms and expand outward in a spherical wave, particles trail with cyan-to-white gradient, energy wave illuminates surrounding space progressively, dramatic camera push-in synchronized with burst, cinematic atmosphere.
An expanding spherical energy burst from the character's hands with particle trails and progressive illumination matching the reference video's timing.

Часто задаваемые вопросы

How do I control the timing of VFX transitions?

Use explicit timing cues in your prompt such as 'over 3 seconds' or 'at the 2-second mark.' Combine these with a @video reference that has similar timing to give the model both verbal and visual timing guidance.

Can I combine multiple VFX effects in one generation?

Yes, but keep it to two effects maximum per generation for best results. Describe them sequentially with clear timing: 'smoke reveal in seconds 0-3, then particle burst in seconds 3-5.' Too many effects in one pass may reduce quality.

What resolution and duration work best for VFX templates?

Shorter durations of 3-6 seconds at high resolution produce the cleanest VFX results. Longer sequences with complex effects may need to be split into segments and joined in post-production.
